Fortnite Update: Metallica Arrives in Fortnite Festival Season 4

Epic Games has officially announced Fortnite Season 4, arriving with the v30.10 update. Scheduled to be available from June 13 to August 16, this season kicks off with the exciting Fortnite Festival Season 4, featuring the legendary heavy metal band, Metallica.

“During this time, seek and destroy your opponents on the new Battle Stage, shred to your favorite Metallica tracks on the Jam Stage and Main Stage, and unlock in-game rewards by tearing your way through the Season 4 Festival Pass,” Epic Games stated in their announcement.

As Fortnite Season 4 launches, here’s everything you need to know:

Fortnite Festival Season 4: What’s New

Battle Stage

  • Fortnite Festival Battle Stage: Each match features up to 16 players competing for the highest score on a randomly selected song from the Festival’s rotation. Four lowest-scoring players are eliminated after each song until one player remains victorious.

Overdrive

  • Overdrive Feature: Players can disrupt others and gain an edge. By playing Overdrive Phases, they build Overdrive, and pressing the Attack button throws rivals off balance while boosting their own score. The more Overdrive held, the longer the attack lasts.

Festival Pass

  • Festival Points: Earn reward points by completing Festival Quests. Accumulated Festival Points help players progress through the Festival Pass, unlocking various rewards.

Rewards

  • Slurp Blaster Guitar: Available as the final reward in Fortnite Festival Season 4.
  • Premium Reward Track: For 1,800 V-Bucks, players can upgrade to unlock Metallica memorabilia. The Lars Ulrich Outfit is unlocked with the Premium Reward Track purchase, while the Robert Trujillo, Kirk Hammett, and James Hetfield outfits can be unlocked by progressing through the track.

Improvements and Fixes

  • Custom Jam Tracks: Players can now equip their owned Jam Tracks as Lobby Tracks.
  • Fret Forgiveness: Increased timing window between strumming a note on Pro Lead/Pro Bass and pressing the correct fret input.
  • Improved HUD: Button bind visibility is on by default for Pro song parts, with Strum bind visible on the HUD. Overdrive can now be deployed during ‘song breaks.’
