Apple’s next iPhones are almost five months away, and several rumours and leaks have already emerged revealing key details about the devices. The iPhone 16 Pro series will bring several upgrades over the iPhone 15 Pro lineup. Starting from the screen to the chipset, and software-related changes, here’s everything we know so far about the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Design and display
The iPhone 16 Pro models will feature almost the same design as the iPhone 15 Pro. However, the dimensions will differ due to the new screen size. This time around, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a slightly larger screen with a 6.3-inch display as opposed to a 6.1-inch panel on the existing iPhone 15 Pro. It is said to have a 149.6mm height, 71.45mm width, and 194 grams of weight.
As for the iPhone 16 Pro Max, it is expected to have a 6.9-inch screen, which is larger than the 6.7-inch panel on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is said to have the following dimensions – 163.0mm height, 77.58mm width, and 225 grams weight.
The iPhone 16 Pro duos are also expected to feature an Action button and a new Capture button. The latter will allow users to open the camera with one click.
Cameras
Coming to the camera system, this time around there will be a new ultrawide camera system added to the Pro models. The setup will likely be led by a 48MP main lens, a 48MP ultrawide lens, and a telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. The 48MP ultrawide lens will be replacing the 12MP ultrawide sensor. This means we will finally get to see a better ultrawide lens. Upfront, we may see some upgrades, however, there are no exact details about the same.
Performance, OS, battery
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to be powered by an Apple A18 Pro chipset. The chipset may have some built-in AI hardware, although nothing is confirmed yet. To top it off, we will also see iOS 18 with new features and changes on the iPhone 16 lineup. We may get to see some customization options and AI features.
There could be some upgrades to Siri, we expect it to be smarter, thanks to AI. Further, Apple is said to update the Messages app with the RCS feature. We will have to wait and see how that works.
The iPhone 16 Pro duos is expected to pack slightly larger battery capacities. The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max are said to have 3,355mAh and 4,676mAh battery capacities, respectively. That’s slightly bigger than the existing iPhone models.
The Apple iPhone 16 Pro lineup will launch alongside the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus in September or October this year.
